TOMBALL, TEXAS - A Tomball teenager has been fatally stabbed in his home by an intruder who was then shot and killed by a neighbor.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office says the 17-year-old was attacked Monday afternoon by another male who entered the victim's house in Tomball. The victim's 12-year-old sister was also home and ran to a neighbor's place for help.
The neighbor, armed with a gun, went into the victim's house and confronted the attacker, who was fatally shot while trying to assault the neighbor.
Authorities are trying to determine a motive for the fatal stabbing and whether the victim knew his attacker.
Sgt. Cedrick Collier says investigators believe the front door might have been unlocked.
The victim and the attacker died at the scene. Their names weren't immediately released.
