Both Franklin (Class 3A Division II) and College Station (Class 5A Division I) represented the Brazos Valley at the UIL State Championships at AT&T Stadium. Franklin won their first state title in school history with a 49-35 win over Gunter, and College Station lost a heart-breaker in overtime to Katy Paetow.

Over a half dozen Brazos Valley high school football players signed college football letters of intent on Wednesday during the first day of December’s NCAA signing period. Lexington defensive back Jarred Kerr is part of Texas A&M’s top-ranked recruiting class.
It is 164 miles from Franklin’s field house to AT&T Stadium in Arlington. For the second straight season the Lions will make the 164 miles trip to play in the Class 3A Division 2 State Championship game.
The College Station football team is on the verge of bringing home their second state title in the program’s short history and first-ever undefeated season. The Cougar’s motto this year has been “Level Up” which Head Coach Steve Huff came up with after they lost in the area round of the playoffs for the third straight season last year.
The College Station Cougars (15-0) will play for the Class 5A Division 1 UIL State Football Championship next week following a 28-21win over Mansfield Summit (11-4) at Midway High School’s Panther Stadium Friday night.
