27 RVs, trailers damaged by fire at Brenham storage facility

Close to 60 firefighters from multiple agencies responded to the fire to provide assistance.

BRENHAM, Texas (KBTX) - A large fire burning at an RV storage facility in Brenham on Wednesday evening is now under control.

The blaze at Allsorts Storage on Highway 36 South sent a large plume of thick smoke into the air that could be seen beyond Washington County.

According to fire officials, more than two dozen RVs and trailers were damaged by the fire. Half a dozen more were damaged by heat.

Multiple fire agencies responded to the scene and parts of the roadway were closed just before 8 p.m.

While details are unclear at this time, we’ve received eye-witness reports that a large fire began shortly before 6 p.m. at a boat and RV storage facility off of Highway 36.

According to KWHI radio news, there were multiple propane tanks and RVs on fire.

No injuries have been reported and it’s unclear at this time what may have started the fire.

The situation is under investigation, with the Texas Fire Marshal’s Office assisting. A total of 58 firefighters responded from Brenham, Washington County, and surrounding counties, according to KWHI.
