Bryan Police arrest student with gun at Bryan High School

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The Bryan Police Department said they arrested a student at Bryan High School in possession of a gun on Friday morning.

Police said school administrators received a tip around 9:35 a.m. about a student who had a gun, and immediately notified Bryan’s School Resource Officers.

The SROs identified the student and found the gun. The student was arrested and taken to the Brazos County jail.

“We encourage all students and families to report any safety concerns immediately and to also use the B-Safe App,” a joint release from BPD and Bryan ISD sent later Friday morning reads. “Bryan ISD student and staff safety will always be our top priority.”

Extra Bryan police resources have been sent to the school, according to the release.

“BPD would like to thank the quick actions taken by Bryan ISD administration and notifying Bryan PD,” the release continued.
