BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - TxDOT announced overnight closures on Interstate 45 beginning Thursday, June 4.

TxDOT said the closures are needed so crews can do maintenance on the main lanes.

Starting at 8 p.m. Thursday, southbound IH-45 will be closed at Exit 118. Traffic will divert to the frontage road and will be able to re-enter the interstate at the entrance ramp across from Huntsville Memorial Hospital.

The closure is expected to last until 5 a.m.

There is a similar closure planned for Sunday, June 7. Southbound IH-45 will be closed at Exit 113, near Bill Fick Ford. Traffic will detour to the frontage road and will be able to re-enter the interstate at the entrance ramp from Huntsville Toyota.

That closure will also run from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

According to TxDOT, message boards are in place to alert drivers, and law enforcement will be on site to help keep traffic moving.
