(KBTX) — On a weekend when eight Texas A&M baseball players were selected in the 2026 MLB Draft, multiple once-thought-future Aggies also heard their names called.

Two Texas A&M 2026 high school signees were taken in the first two rounds of the draft. Trey Ebel was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers with the 25th overall pick, and Conner Comeau was selected in the second round with the 54th overall pick.

According to an MLB.com article, Ebel’s brother is also in the Brewers organization, and they celebrated the opportunity to play together over FaceTime, signaling that Ebel is going pro and will not play for Texas A&M.

Comeau is also expected to forgo a college career at Texas A&M after being taken in the second round. The Texas native told KXAN-TV that he will join the Rangers organization.

Texas A&M’s UNLV transfer pitcher Jase Evangelista was also drafted. He was selected in the 14th round of the Major League Baseball draft by the Boston Red Sox after announcing that he was heading to College Station in June. He was expected to be one of seven portal pitchers the Aggies brought in to bolster their staff. KBTX will look to confirm whether he will turn pro or play another year of college baseball.
