Weekend Gardener: Garden Exploration Days

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - The Junior Master Gardener program is teaming up with The Gardens at Texas A&M to host a couple of day camps for students.

They’re being held on Monday, Oct. 12 and Tuesday, Oct. 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Monday’s day camp is called “Garden to Plate”: Discover how fruits and vegetables grow from seed to harvest. Campers will explore edible gardens, learn about plant care, and harvest processes, while making connections between the garden and the foods we eat every day.

Tuesday’s day camp is called “Habitat Heroes”: Explore the fascinating world of wildlife-friendly gardening. Campers will investigate the needs of pollinators, birds, and beneficial insects, learn how gardens provide essential habitats, and discover ways to create healthy ecosystems that support local wildlife.

The cost is $75 per day or $140 if you register for both. Registration includes the materials and supplies for the lessons and activities.
