COLLEGE STATION, Texas — This segment on The Three was paid for and sponsored by The City of College Station

Local businesses, civic groups and organizations have until Friday to register for the annual College Station Christmas Parade.

Participation is free and open to groups of all sizes. The deadline to register is Nov. 6.

Growing holiday tradition

Organizers expect to build on last year’s turnout of more than 70 entries. Officials noted the parade provides local businesses and non-profit groups valuable public exposure while spreading holiday cheer.

There is no designated theme, leaving participants free to design floats, decorate trailers or pickup trucks, or join as walking units. Specific float-building guidelines and entry requirements are available on the city’s website. Following registration, city officials will organize the lineup and hold an informational meeting for all participants to review route logistics.

Event details and festivities

The parade takes place Dec. 5 at 4 p.m., covering an estimated two-mile route that begins at Post Oak Mall and concludes at Central Park.

The festivities kick off earlier that afternoon with the Jingle Bell Fun Run starting at 3:30 p.m. Following the parade’s conclusion, attendees will gather at Central Park for the annual Lights On celebration, which features the lighting of park displays and community activities.
